“It was such a simple pleasure to put together this outing for Sister Winefred,” stated Terry Szymczak, who is a volunteer and benefactor to our Home.
Sister Winefred is celebrating her 70th anniversary of profession as a Little Sister of the Poor this year. This trip to the Rolling Hills Estates Equestrian Center was one way to honor her. As a young girl in Colorado, she and her girl friend use to ride horses together. So this outing was planned for her enjoyment.
It was quite a collection of animals Sister Winefred and the Little Sisters were able to pet. There were llamas, goats, a mini horse and even a big fluffy rabbit. As an added surprise, a young rider brought her horse to the fence so the Little Sisters could feed him cornflakes. Sister Winefred loved the day and is still talking about it.
