We began the month of July in celebration of the independence of our country. With families and friends we enjoyed grateful prayer, a parade, patriotic songs and a picnic in our garden. It was a time of laughter, fun and family gatherings. G.K. Chesterton wrote famously that America is “a Nation with the soul of a church”. He saw the substance of the American soul most clearly in our Declaration of Independence.
