For most students doing homework is often a grind. But this was not the case for a group of fifteen Marymount College students who hosted an intergenerational dialogue with some of our Residents. Their assignment was to interview a senior citizen and ask questions about their relationships and how they have seen societal norms change over the course of their lifetime. To add enjoyment, the students offered to transport the Residents via the college’s bus to a lovely restaurant in town and share a meal as they visited. The students paired up one-on-one and the conversation just flowed. The universal comment from all that participated was, “There just was not enough time.” The Residents loved the students and the feeling was mutual.
