Model “A” Cars
It has become an annual event when the “Model “A” Vintage Car Club” comes to visit us just before “Father’s Day”. This has been a treat for all us! (Not just the Fathers).
This year there were five antique cars, all so bright and shiny! All took a peek at the cars first, admiring each one and seeing the difference in the difference in the years that they were made. Two of the cars were from 1930. Some had the rumble seats with the spare tire on the side of the car, others had trucks in the back or a place on the side for storage.
Not only do we find out the story of each car and its owner, and how many years it took the owners to fix up their cars. For so many of these antique cars it has taken years of finding parts. The parts are easier to find now with the internet, but for many of them it has been a long road in finding their parts.
Some of the men wanted to check out motor on car to see how much different they are today. All in all the men enjoyed the cars and all the information on them.
Then for the ride along the ocean was in store. Their owners reminded us that the cars are not very fast (about 45 miles per hour on the highway). And the seats are not comfortable for a long distance. But the cars are very fun and interesting.
