A Father’s Day tradition in our Home of San Pedro has become a visit of the “Harbor Area Model ‘A’ Restore Club” from Torrance, California. Members of the club drive their cars to ‘show-off’ their beauty. One by one they came into our parking lot, and as they pulled into the driveway they honked their old horns which tooted the so familiar “Ahooga” sound of these vintage cars. Many of the owners have rebuilt their cars themselves and ride these cars with great pride, and with great reason. Each car was all shined up and ready to go for a nice ride. One car was the same age as Mickey Mouse’s older brother “Steamboat Willie” so the windows were donned with decals of Mickey.
All enjoyed looking over the beautiful cars, and seeing all the hard work the owners did to keep them in such beautiful shape. Residents and Sisters were happy to join them for a spin around the neighborhood, and owners enjoyed even more to show off their vintage cars.
