Mexican Dancers
Each year we are happy to welcome the “Inspiraciones de Danza Mexicana” which is a dance school that teaches traditional Mexican Dancing. The students begin at the age of two and also have teenagers and adults. It is really special to see the little ones as they begin to learn to dance.
This year we had several children come; the youngest was four years of age and had begun at the age of two. Often, when they are so young they keep their eyes on the older children around them and follow their lead.
The instructor for the children is the daughter of one of our Residents and enjoys bringing the children and adults each year. They like to come in May, close to Cinco de Mayo. She also makes all the costumes that they wear for the dancing which are always so beautiful and colorful.
The dancing also represents the different regions of Mexico, which makes it very interesting. The Residents enjoy watching the Mexican dancers, since we have so many Residents who are either from Mexico or are Mexican origins.
