On Thursday, November 5, the 4th and 5th graders’ Student Council from South Shores Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts; along with their Principal Paul Suzuki, Student Council Coordinator, Teacher and School Secretary came to Little Sisters to bring us boxes full of items from our wish list. Giovanni Crow, a fifth grader and the Student Body President, explained that this was a School project to do an act of Charity in the community. He said he knew of Little Sisters of the Poor so he decided to go online and check out our website. He saw our wish list on our donation page and presented it to the rest of the student council. From there our wish list became a school project. Publicity Officers Jack and Anthony created flyers and posters to hang around the school and to be sent home. The students donated money and various items from our list (toothpaste, body lotions, body wash, mouth wash, paper goods: paper plates, napkins, Kleenex and cups).
The Student Council personally delivered the boxes to Little Sisters on behalf of the whole student body. They were able to spend some additional time at our home enjoying cookies with juice or hot chocolate. These Students are out there doing great things for the community: a food drive for the homeless and a candy drive for the veterans. The Little Sisters are grateful that they chose our home for their project. It was our pleasure to meet the students of South Shores Magnet School and we thank them all for their generosity and giving.
