On Saturday afternoon October 27th, we enjoyed an amazing concert by the Duke’s Men of Yale. Made up of twelve young men, they performed in a traditional acappella singing style. Their repertoire included music to please our seniors as well as complex contemporary arrangements. Some of the tunes included dancing and delightful acting.
Everyone wanted the singing to go on and on. It was truly easy to understand why this group has won so many musical competitions. The Little Sisters now join President Bill Clinton, Google Corporation and a host of others who have enjoyed the talent of the Dukes.
We are grateful to Mike Trapani, a member of our Board of Advisors, and his wife Jovan for hosting the performance. Their son Mark is a member of Duke’s Men and remembers the many times he performed at the Little Sisters of the Poor as part of the Chadwick High School drama group. We were thrilled to have him back and bring his terrific college group.
The Yale students enjoyed chatting with the Residents and the Little Sisters during the reception. Several of them from New York compared notes with Sister Maureen who still has her East Coast wit and love of NYC. Thank you, Men of Duke. Please come back soon!
