“How about treating the Residents to a shopping spree right here at the Home?” suggested Mary Harrington, owner of Stonefire Grill. Through her friendship with the Residents she knew that many knit and crochet. So she arranged for what might be the nations’ first mobile yarn boutique to come to the Home.
The Yarnover Truck arrived on Saturday, May 18 and Mary encouraged the Residents and Little Sisters to shop from the wide selection of yarns, accessories, patterns and more.
“It’s amazing how much is inside the truck,” said Resident Ruby Pecarich. “It has floor-to-ceiling shelves and a skylight so you can really see the colors and textures of the yarns.”
“This was a wonderful treat,” said Pat Deacon who plans to make a shawl for Mary from the fuchsia colored skeins she selected. “Mary has again spoiled us with her generosity.”
From everyone at Jeanne Jugan Residence: “Thank You, Mary. You’re the best.”
