The Yale University Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group performed in our auditorium on January 13, 2014. The Residents and our many guests were spellbound as the group burst onto the stage and sang one amazing song after another. Applause and cheers filled the air as everyone stood in final ovation. The electricity did not die down as the “Whiffs” joined the audience for cookies, coffee and conversation. It was impressive to learn that Los Angeles is one of many cities worldwide in which they will perform in the coming months. Taking a year off from studies, they will act as ambassadors for Yale as they share their talents and raise the needed money to fund their travels.
Thank you to Mike Trapani, a member of our Advisory Board, who arrange for the Whiffenpoofs’ performance. His son Mark is a member of the group and performed many times at the Little Sisters while he attended Chadwick School.
