On May 8, we held our annual May Crowning Ceremony. The Residents and Little Sisters gathered in our chapel. Together they prayed the rosary and recited the litany of our Blessed Virgin Mary. Sr. Brigid Costelloe was the crown bearer and Margaret Beaton had the privilege of placing the crown of fresh flowers on the statue of Mary while those in attendance sang “Immaculate Mary”.
“I very much appreciate this statue of Mary because she is holding the infant Jesus,” said Beaton. “I like to think of Jesus as a little boy picking flowers and bringing them to his mother just as we did today.”
May the month a May be a special time for you to celebrate the queenship of Mary and draw closer to her love and the love of her son Jesus.
