Mother’s Day Tea
Mother’s Day is always a beautiful occasion to thank our Mothers for all they do throughout the year. This year our Residents going to the Mother’s Tea prepared by decorating a hat to wear for the occasion. They picked out the flowers they liked and the color of the ribbons to go with them. When they entered the Auditorium, each of the Ladies picked up their hats before joining friends and family at the table.
For some of our Mothers this year they have lost children or suffered along with a sick son or daughter. Many of them have suffered illnesses themselves, yet with the support of their families, friends, staff and Sisters they have been able to cope. Here at the Home of the Little Sisters we are a family, as Saint Jeanne Jugan often called it (the little family).
It is beautiful to see the love and support given our Residents who are Mothers from their families. The visits from family members are often encouragement for our Residents.
We thank our Mothers for all they have done in the past and all the love and care they have given us. Thank you, Mothers, for your faith today, which shines through each day, even on days of pain and suffering. Mothers are always special and often we do not always show our gratitude.
Thank you, Mothers!
