The “Sandpipers” are not strangers to the Little Sisters in San Pedro. During the summer, they helped the Residents to do crafts three times. It is always such a joy to have them visit, they bring different craft projects for the Residents to work on. They are so patient in helping the Residents with their projects.
Many of our infirm Residents like to participate in the “Sandpipers” crafts since they know they will receive much patience and attention needed to complete their projects.
Crafts for the Elderly does so much for our Residents, they have to think of colors and how to arrange. But the greatest thing is they forget their aches and pains for the hour or so they are working on their project, and they have loving attention from the “Sandpipers”.
The Christmas project was a wreath, decorated with many colorful bows. The Residents enjoyed picking out the colors and the size they wanted, and were looking forward to hanging the wreathes in their rooms when they returned. We thank the “Sandpipers” for giving not just their time but truly giving themselves in joy to our Residents.
